Terengganu, Malaysia – May 24, 2025
Authorities have intensified their crackdown on cockfighting gambling in Malaysia, with 11 individuals arrested during a raid at Kampung Atas Tol. The suspects, aged between 32 and 56, were caught participating in and organizing illegal cockfighting matches that involved active wagering — a violation under Malaysia’s gambling laws.
This case is the latest development in the broader enforcement campaign targeting cockfighting gambling Malaysia, which has become increasingly prominent in rural areas. One of the arrested individuals was identified as a foreign national from Indonesia, signaling potential cross-border involvement.
“Cockfighting gambling Malaysia operations are not only illegal but also promote cruelty to animals,” said a spokesperson from the Terengganu Criminal Investigation Department.
The raid was part of Ops Dadu, Malaysia’s national anti-gambling operation. Authorities from the State Police CID collaborated with the State Veterinary Services Department, which assisted in documenting and handling the animals seized at the scene.
Ongoing Action Against Cockfighting Gambling in Malaysia
Several fighting cocks, gambling records, and betting tools were confiscated as evidence. The suspects are now being investigated under the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953, with possible additional charges under animal welfare regulations.
The rise of cockfighting gambling Malaysia has drawn serious concern from law enforcement due to its link with underground betting syndicates and unregulated cash flows. Authorities emphasize that similar raids will continue to disrupt these operations, particularly in rural hotspots.
As part of Malaysia’s wider effort to combat illegal betting — both online and offline — this case adds to a growing list of arrests under Ops Dadu in 2025.
